What is Friendship Ministries?
For decades, Friendship Ministries has worked to promote the ideals of Equality, Interdependence, Compassion, and Hospitality within the Body of Christ. With a vision for people with and without intellectual disability to grow deeper in their relationship with God and with each other in community together, Friendship Ministries has provided resources that support faith formation and congregational inclusion with individuals with intellectual disability. The Together Curriculum , a menu of digital coursework published by Friendship Ministries, provides churches the framework to build these communities of inclusion.
Friendship Ministries + All Belong
In recognition of our share vision for church communities, in 2021 Friendship Ministries, along with it’s digital curriculum library TOGETHER, became a subsidiary of All Belong. In combining with the work of All Belong’s Church Services team, Friendship Ministries impact will continue to be felt for years to come.
TOGETHER Curriculum
TOGETHER is an innovative approach to Bible study that is designed to help congregations develop a sense of true belonging among people of all levels of ability. Through the use of interactive videos, Bible presentations, discussion prompts, and more, people with and without disabilities can grow in faith TOGETHER. TOGETHER has two parallel tracks of study. The first is designed for use in a traditional disability ministry setting, such as the 1,000+ Friendship groups that are active in the US and Canada. It offers activities, such as worship songs and dramas, that are appropriate to larger groups. The second track is designed to support the formation of small groups that include adults with and without disabilities. It contains more challenging discussion prompts, while keeping the interactive flavor that will appeal to adults of all learning abilities. The topics are relevant to both populations and both tracks contain appropriate supports to enable the full participation of all.
